The republic of Kenya located in East Africa has today celebrated 50 years of her independence in style, with attendance by many Head of States from Africa continent.
Lead by Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta, the son of the founding president Jomo Kenyatta, the celebrations were a lot of flash back of events that happened 50 years ago when Kenya achieved her indipendence
In attendance were Presidents form East Africa including Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of Tanzania, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda, Joseph Kabila of Democratic Republic of Congo, Dr. Joyce Banda of Malawi, Salva Kiir of South Sudan, Good Luck Jonathan of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Omar Bongo of Gabon, Prime Minister Haille Mariam of Ethiopia, former Nigeria President Olesegun Obasanjo, retired president Mwai Kibaki, Deputy President William Ruto, former first Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta among others.
There was a 21 gun salute followed by entertainment by many youth, dance groups from Kenya and her neighbouring countries, and speaches by the invited head of states.The events climax was by the speech by Uhuru Kenyatta.
The cellebrations will continue for 3 days as officially announced by the government of Kenya.
