The future of Gor Mahia after loosing influential players one year ago

Gor Mahia never stops amazing every one in the soccer fraternity in the events of last year after winning Kenya Premier League 2014. Gor Mahia popularly known as Kogallo has won the 2015 Kenya premier league a third time in a row even after loosing influential players after exit of striker Dan Sserunkuma of Uganda, defender Papa Kizito and Coach Bob Williamsons to to Kenya National team Harambee Stars

The case of players leaving the strong Gor Mahia Camp has been occasioned by lack of cash after sponsorship withdrawal due to fans troubles and indicipline. This has left Gor Mahia or Kogallo struggling to pay allowances to her players and futher threatening to weeken the club.

Kogallo have however defied all odds to continue becoming stronger and winning more silverware. The 2015 premier league was just one of the examples of Kogallos suprise strong performance.

Gor Mahia foot ball club made history for all reasons

  • Winning a record 3rd Kenya premier league (KPL) in a row.
  • Playing the entire league without loosing a game.
  • Winning the Kenya premier league without a sponsor.
  • Reaching the CECAFA Club championship finals without loosing a game only to finally loose 2-0 in the finals against AZAM FC of Tanzania

Kogallo have attempted to start varios projects to raise funds such as the recently launched Kogallo bread and a Safaricom pay bill number, but funds are still not enough to sustain the club wages especially that the players are of high callibre and can easily be poached by other big spenders.

All this extra ordinary achievements could not have been achieved without one man by name Bobby Ogolla, a caretaker coach, former captain, an all time legendary Harambee Stars and Gor Mahia player and oftenly regarded as the second best defender in Africa in the peak days to Cameroonian defender Captain Emannuel Kunde. Bobby Ogolla has offered excellent guidance to Gor as a team and helped nature many talents who have offered excellent services to Gor Mahia.
