Tremors in Ecuador, rare rest high magnitudes 7.8 in recent times

Powerful 7.8 magnitudes spreads panic in the North West Pacific, so far killing 77 people in Ecuador, a country in South America neighboring Colombia.

The quake epicenter according to US geologists was 27Kms south-southeast of Muisne in a sparsely populated fishing town filled with tourists and causing some damages in the densely populated town of Guayaquil.

Japanese twin quakes spread panic on rescue missions

In Japan where two earth quakes left 40 people dead has forced the government to evacuate 250,000 people in the country. There was destruction of homes was massive as search for survivors in the remains of buildings destroyed in Japan continues. More earth quakes are expected forcing the government to evacuate people to safer grounds.

The first quake occurred on Saturday with tremors that killed 32 people, injuring hundreds of people and causing widespread damage affecting houses, bridges and roads in Japan.

Rescue operations for survivors and dead trapped in the rubble continues as desperate search for water supply and food for the victims continues.

Learning institutions were also affected as 10 students in a collapsed university apartment in the town of Minamiaso were rescued on Saturday.

Heavy down pours complicated the matter as landslides were imminent complicating rescue missions.
