Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) announces tax amnesty targeting tax defaulters and runs until the end of the current financial year. The orders target local - resident tax payers.
A KRA commissioner announces in the mainstream media that the tax amnesty will run until the month of June 2024. Meanwhile, The authority has started to achieve a rise in revenue remittance from defaulters as they attempt to beat this deadline. The waiver is for accrued interest and penalties charged. The authority through its press statement states that the tax amnesty does not cover defaults for the unpaid principal,
Kenyans have been encouraged to take notice of the waiver to remit defaults in principal tax so that they can enjoy the waiver which expires at the end of the current financial year ending June 2024. Once the amnesty is over, there will be no other opportunity.
